(L.A.) Aaron Mahaffey, 49, Died in a Park

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 49-year-old male that occurred in a park.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Aaron Mahaffey.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

RIP AARON D MAHAFFEY (June 26, 1976 – July 25, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 9, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
