(L.A.) Martin Segura, 40, Died in a Riverbed

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old Latino male that occurred in a riverbed.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Martin Segura.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Torso

RIP MARTIN SEGURA (July 11, 1985 – July 16, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.

The decedent appeared to have been a homeless individual.

Long Beach PD and FD personnel responded at around 11:15 a.m. to reports of a body in the bed of the Los Angeles River near the Gardena (91) Freeway.
