(L.A.) James Smith, 68, Died in a Vehicle

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 68-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a vehicle.

The coroner’s office identified the man as James Smith.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 25 presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “James Smith” in public records.
