(L.A.) Lew Caoili, 34, Died From Overdosing on Coke

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 34-year-old Asian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Lew Caoili.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Cocaine Intoxication

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on July 14, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

The decedent’s name appears to be Filipino. He was a vocational nurse with a current license in California.
