(L.A.) Leonard Montanez, 47, Died on the 405

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 47-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred on the San Diego Freeway.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Leonard Montanez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt-Force Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 11:00 p.m.

The decedent was a motorcyclist who was fatally injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the San Diego (405) Freeway near Gardena.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to the southbound freeway at the Vermont Avenue exit at around 10:45 p.m., where they found the victim lying in the slow lane with an overturned vehicle and the camper of one of the vehicles in another lane.
