(L.A.) Kourosh Yaghoubi, 63, Died in South El Monte

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 63-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a strip mall’s parking lot.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Kourosh Yaghoubi.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

RIP KOUROSH YAGHOUBI (June 9, 1961 – April 9, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 12:25 p.m.

The decedent was of Persian / Iranian origin.

He was fatally run down by shoplifters outside a South El Monte store. In a strikingly similar tragedy for the family, his brother was beaten to death by a homeless man in 2021 in Orange County.

UPDATE: Authorities arrested a 16-year-old for this crime. He was the driver of the car that hit the victim.

LASD has jurisdiction over this crime.
