Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 59-year-old Black female that occurred at a hotel.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Tracy Filer.

Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Burson.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Community-Acquired Pneumonia

Other Significant Conditions: Atherosclerotic Coronary Artery Disease, Effects of Methamphetamine, and Metastatic Ovarian Cancer

RIP TRACY Y FILER (January 13, 1966 – March 21, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 11:07 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 28, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
