(L.A.) Jermail Morris, 52, Died at an Encampment

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 52-year-old Black male that occurred at an encampment.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jermail Morris.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Smoke Inhalation and Thermal Burns

Other Significant Condition: Acute Methamphetamine Intoxication

RIP JERMAIL MORRIS (December 20, 1972 – March 9, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 6:08 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 17, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

The decedent overdosed on meth.
