(L.A.) Debra Batch, 72, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 72-year-old Black female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Debra Batch.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Condition: Recent Cocaine Use

RIP DEBRA BATCH (September 2, 1952 – January 13, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 8:18 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on April 23, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
