(L.A.) Kellyn Stoffel, 39, Died at a Hotel

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 39-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at a hotel.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Kellyn Stoffel.

Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Aguallo.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Intoxication by the Combined Effects of Fentanyl, Mitragynine, and Methamphetamine

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 2:31 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on April 16, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Mitragynine is the most abundant active alkaloid in the Southeast Asian plant Mitragyna speciosa, commonly known as kratom.
