(L.A.) Dominic Quant, 50, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 50-year-old male that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Dominic Quant and listed his race/ethnicity as Latino.

Born in L.A. County. Mother’s maiden name is Fontenot.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of the Abdomen

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 9:37 p.m.

The decedent was fatally shot in the Del Rey area.

LAPD had responded to the 11700 block of Avon Way, between Washington and Culver boulevards.

A man was seen on video leaving after having fired a gun at the victim.

The suspect was arrested on January 29 for 187(A) murder and arraigned on February 3. He is 62-year-old Ronaldo Fabian Hernandez, known to familiars as Ron Hernandez. Bail was initially set at 2 million dollars, then upped to 3 million; he remains in custody, unable to post bond. A second charge added is 12022.53(d), a special allegation of personal and intentional discharge of a firearm resulting in grave bodily injury. He has retained Tomas Requejo as his attorney and pled not guilty to the two charges. His next court date is March 24.
