(L.A.) Jose Alvarez Esparza, 50, Died on a Bus

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 50-year-old Latino male that occurred on a bus.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jose Alvarez Esparza.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl Intoxication

RIP JOSE ALVAREZ ESPARZA (December 24, 1974 – January 4, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 6:47 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on February 25, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
