(L.A.) David Shaw, 61, Died From Substance Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 61-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as David Shaw.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

Other Significant Conditions: Peripheral Vascular Disease and History of Chronic Alcohol Use

RIP DAVID SHAW (May 29, 1963 – November 3, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 12:15 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on February 9, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
