(L.A.) Paul Luther, 50, Died From Polydrug Abse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 50-year-old White/Caucasian male.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Paul Luther.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, and Mitragynine Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 4:01 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on January 27, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

Mitragynine is the most abundant active alkaloid in the Southeast Asian plant Mitragyna speciosa, commonly known as kratom.
