(L.A.) Donald Erving, 50, Died From Drug Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 50-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Donald Erving.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine and Morphine

RIP DONALD ERVING (July 19, 1974 – September 12, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 11:26 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on December 24, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
