(L.A.) Gurley Butler, 61, Died From a Coke OD

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 61-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Gurley Butler.

Cause of Death: Effects of Cocaine

RIP GURLEY BUTLER (July 29, 1962 – June 13, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 9:29 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on December 18, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.
