(L.A.) Denisse Gutierrez, 44, Died From Drug Use

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old Hispanic female.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Denisse Gutierrez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Morphine and Methamphetamine

Other Significant Conditions: Hypertension with Congestive Heart Failure; Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus; Cirrhosis of the Liver

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 3:25 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in November, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, overdose.
