Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 45-year-old Black male that occurred in a field.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Mark Harrison.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

RIP MARK HARRISON (June 22, 1979 – July 23, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 12:20 p.m.

Incident location: 11400 block of Alameda Street in Lynwood, near the auto dismantling business

This was initially reported by the sheriff’s department and mainstream media outlets as a fatal stabbing. The medical examiner then later stated the decedent was killed by gunshots.

It appears the decedent had been dead a few days before his body was discovered on Tuesday. He was described as “unhoused.”
