Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 61-year-old Latino male that occurred at a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Sergio Velazquez Macias.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Anoxic Encephalopathy

Cause of Death B: Fentanyl Intoxication

Other Significant Condition: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 4:22 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on June 2.

This is considered an accidental drug overdose.
