(L.A.) Denise Drinkard Phillips, 63, Died From Drugs

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 63-year-old Black female that occurred at her residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Denise Drinkard Phillips.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Methamphetamine Intoxication

Other Significant Conditions: Cocaine Effects; Abdominal Hernia; Peripheral Vascular Disease with Leg Ulcers

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 9:03 a.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on August 12, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.
