(L.A.) Guadalupe Alvarez Salgado, 6, Died in Pomona

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a six-year-old Hispanic female that occurred on a street.

The coroner’s office identified the girl as Guadalupe Alvarez Salgado of Pomona.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Mulitple Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 8:12 p.m.

Officers from the Pomona Police Department were sent to the site of an accident at Towne and Lexington avenues at around 8:00 p.m. Upon arrival, they found two pedestrians lying in the roadway along Towne Avenue.

Investigators said a woman and child were both hit while crossing the intersection but haven’t specified if any traffic laws were violated.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation. It turned out that he had run a red light. In July the following year, he was charged with one count of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and one count of reckless driving on a highway causing injury.
