Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 61-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Richard Sturdevant.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Ischemic Heart Disease

Cause of Death B: Atherosclerotic Coronary Artery Disease

Other Significant Condition: Effects of Methamphetamine

RIP RICHARD STURDEVANT (August 14, 1962 – May 19, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 11:18 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 9, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug.

This is considered an accidental overdose.
