(L.A.) Marcelo Az Xic, 46, Died in a Shelter

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 46-year-old Latino male that occurred in a shelter.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Marcelo Az Xic.

Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl

RIP MARCELO AZ XIC (September 2, 1977 – May 15, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 2:20 a.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on June 13, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.

Az and Xic are distinctly Guatemalan surnames.
