Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 75-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Eddie Smith.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Cocaine Toxicity

RIP EDDIE SMITH (August 28, 1948 – April 25, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 2:45 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on July 10, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.
