(L.A.) Andrew Jelmert, 77, Died in in Griffith Park

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 77-year-old Caucasian male that occurred on a street in Griffith Park.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Andrew Jelmert, resident of Micheltorena Street in Silverlake.

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

The decedent was a bicyclist who was hit by a vehicle as he was nearing the finish of a training ride for a charity event.

Jairo Ventura Martinez, 39, would be arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, as well as for driving without a license.
