(L.A.) Angel Hernandez, a Baby, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the infant boy as Angel Hernandez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Intrauterine Fetal Demise

Other Significant Conditions: Effects of Methamphetamine, Congenital Syphilis

RIP ANGEL HERNANDEZ (April 1, 2024 – April 1, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 2:33 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 23, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the meth. This is considered an accidental drug overdose.

The baby’s mother was abusing meth and had syphilis.

Intrauterine fetal demise is the medical term for a stillbirth.
