(L.A.) Armando Hernandez, 18, Died in the Riots

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of an 18-year-old Hispanic male.

The coroner’s office identified the young man as Armando Hernandez.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Inhalation of Smoke Soot and Carbon Monoxide

Other Significant Condition: Thermal Burns

RIP ARMANDO ORTIZ HERNANDEZ (May 25, 1973 – May 2, 1992)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

The decedent’s body was found inside an auto parts shop that was set on fire during the L.A. Riots.

He was not identified until May 2017, more than 25 years after the unrest.
