RIP GERARDO MORALES (March 24, 1984 – February 15, 2024)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 7:56 a.m.
The government investigator had initially given the decedent’s place of death as a nursing home, before later changing it to a health-care service.
Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late May, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug. This is considered an accidental drug overdose.
Clozapine is a psychiatric medication and is the first atypical antipsychotic (also called second-generation antipsychotic) to be discovered. It is primarily used to treat people with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder who have had an inadequate response to two other antipsychotics or who have been unable to tolerate other drugs due to extrapyramidal side effects.
