(L.A.) Gerber Martinez Mejia, 47, Died on a Walkway

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 47-year-old Latino male who collapsed in a walkway.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Gerber Martinez Mejia.

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine and Ethanol

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 6:29 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on February 7, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the meth. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, substance overdose.

Note that the government investigator had initially given the decedent’s name as Herbert Martinez.
