Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 58-year-old Black male.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Marquett Matlock.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

Other Significant Condition: Renal Failure

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 10:29 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on April 10, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the meth. This is considered an accidental drug overdose.
