(L.A.) John Spradling, 80, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of an 80-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as John Spradling.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Hemorrhagic Shock

Cause of Death B: Epistaxis

Cause of Death C: Traumatic Facial Injury

Other Significant Condition: Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

RIP JOHN SPRADLING (July 22, 1943 – November 18, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 2:50 a.m.

The traumatic facial injury caused severe bleeding in the form of epistaxis (nosebleed), which led to massive blood loss, resulting in hemorrhagic shock.

Patients with leukemia have a higher incidence of major hemorrhage compared to the general population.
