(L.A.) Michael Trefts, 67, Died From Drug Abuse

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 67-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Michael Trefts.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Ischemic Heart Disease

Cause of Death B: Atherosclerotic Coronary Artery Disease

Other Significant Conditions: Effects of Methamphetamine; Medical History of Polysubstance Abuse

RIP MICHAEL TREFTS (June 4, 1956 – January 2, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 7:17 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 28, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive.

This is considered an accidental drug overdose.
