Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 51-year-old Hispanic female that occurred in a homeless shelter.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Mercedes Garcia.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 10:21 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the COD ruling on February 2, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drugs.
