(L.A.) Gerard Hayes Mckenzie, 36, Died on a Train Platform

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 36-year-old Black male that occurred on a train platform.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Gerard Hayes Mckenzie.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

Other Significant Conditions: Medical History of Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 1:53 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on April 18, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.
