(L.A.) Gustavo Otzoy, 57, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 57-year-old Latino male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Gustavo Otzoy.

Height: 5 feet 5 inches / Weight: 150 pounds

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

RIP GUSTAVO ADOLFO OTZOY (May 14, 1966 – November 24, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 5:55 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on December 20, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

The decedent was arrested by Palmdale Sheriff’s deputies in July 2014 for assault with a deadly weapon. He was again arrested by Palmdale Sheriff’s deputies in September 2018, for inflicting corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant.

He was a native of Guatemala.
