(L.A.) Ashley Camarena, 26, Died From Drugs

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 26-year-old Black female whose body was found at a freeway embankment.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Ashley Camarena.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine, Cyclobenzaprine, Olanzapine, and Quetiapine

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 3:23 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on January 29, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, polydrug overdose.

Cyclobenzaprine, sold under the brand name Flexeril among others, is a muscle relaxer used for muscle spasms from musculoskeletal conditions of sudden onset.
