Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 16-year-old Hispanic female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the teenager as Alexa Gonzalez Cortez.

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl

RIP ALEXA GONZALEZ CORTEZ (May 18, 2007 – August 30, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 12:07 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on November 6, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drug.
