(L.A.) Ernie Welch, 62, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 62-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Ernie Welch.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Conditions: Effects of Cocaine, History of Chronic Alcohol and Tobacco Use

RIP ERNIE WELCH (December 21, 1960 – August 19, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 6:03 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on November 7, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive. This is considered an accidental drug overdose.
