(L.A.) Carlos Martinez, 39, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 39-year-old Hispanic male that occurred on a sidewalk.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Carlos Martinez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Toxicity

RIP CARLOS MARTINEZ (May 20, 1984 – July 10, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 9:40 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 30, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Carlos Martinez” in public records.
