(L.A.) Arkadi Simonyan, 44, Died on a Sidewalk

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old male that occurred on a sidewalk.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Arkadi Simonyan.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound of Chest

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 10:23 p.m.
The decedent’s name is Armenian. He was gunned down outside of a smoke shop at a strip mall in Valley Glen.
Authorities had responded to calls of shots being fired around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Victory Boulevard. The smoke shop is on the southwest corner.
Drive Thru Smoke Shop‘s address is 12908 Victory Blvd, Valley Glen, CA 91606. Anahit Hayrapetian registered the business with the city in January 2023.
Papillon Bakery / Brick & Flour, PokiTomik, OxyDental and Boba Cha Cha are in the same strip mall. Zahle Restaurant is just a few steps away.
It appears that two vehicles, a Mercedes-Benz SUV (plate number 8ZMP293) and a Mercedes-Benz sedan, were involved in a collision in the strip mall’s parking lot and that may have led to the altercation between the three people involved.
Two individuals produced handguns and opened fire, leaving all three with gunshot wounds. Simonyan died on the scene. The other two were transported to a nearby hospital, where one was pronounced dead. That appears to have been Mesrop Malkhasyan.
