(L.A.) Jose Reyna, 36, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 36-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jose Reyna.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Methamphetamine

Other Significant Conditions: Hepatitis C, Kaposi Sarcoma, Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 4:32 a.m.

Kaposi’s sarcoma is a frequent complication of AIDS, which the decedent was suffering from. Manner of death, however, was not ruled natural but accidental because it was the meth that precipitated the death. Drug deaths are frequently classified as accidents under the assumption that the users didn’t intend to kill themselves.
