Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 42-year-old Hispanic female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Sulma Chaidez Vega.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl Toxicity

RIP SULMA CHAIDEZ VEGA (May 27, 1981 – May 31, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 3:50 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on September 30, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for the drug.
