Three dead, others in critical condition following a school shooting in Santa Clarita, California
UPDATE: Six students were transported to the hospital, all between the ages of 14 and 16. Three victims have died — a 16-year-old female victim, a 14-year-old male victim and another student.
The suspect is a 16-year-old male Asian student currently in the hospital in grave condition.
LATEST UPDATE: The suspect, now identified as half-Japanese Nathaniel Berhow, has succumbed to his self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He committed his crimes on the day he turned 16.
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department responded to an active shooter situation at Saugus High School Thursday morning. At least one victim is dead and two others in critical condition according to a local hospital. The shooter is no longer a threat.

RECAP: At least five people were injured — three eventually died — in a shooting at Saugus High School when a gunman opened fire on the Santa Clarita campus early Thursday.
The shooter was a teenager. The weapon he used was a .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol.
