Paul Dano to play The Riddler in ‘The Batman’

Paul Dano has reportedly been cast as The Riddler in the upcoming “The Batman,” according to multiple reports.

Dano takes over the character played by Frank Gorshin and John Astin in the 1960s TV series, and by Jim Carrey in 1995’s “Batman Forever.”

“Twilight” alum Robert Pattinson is set to take over the role of The Dark Knight. Zoe Kravitz was announced as Catwoman.

Jonah Hill had been a top pick to play The Penguin, but that possibility was considered nixed as of yesterday.

The movie is due out June 25, 2021.

Paul Dano received accolades for his role as Dwayne Hoover in Little Miss Sunshine (2006). For his dual roles as Paul and Eli Sunday in There Will Be Blood (2007), he was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Dano has also received accolades for roles such as John Tibeats in 12 Years a Slave (2013) and Alex Jones in Prisoners (2013). His acting portrayal of musician Brian Wilson in Love & Mercy (2015), earned him a Golden Globe nomination in the category of Best Supporting Actor.
