Kaepernick Will Stand If NFL Lets Him Return?

Did Colin Kaepernick really say that he would stand for the national anthem if he were to be let back into the NFL?

That’s what CBS News, USA Today, ABC News, Maxim, the New York Post and many other news outlets were going with.

Kaepernick's NFL return?

Not sure how the miscommunication could have possibly have happened, but this is the latest from the Associated Press.

The reporter in the center of this storm appears to be Jason La Canfora.

And then definitively this…

Colin Rand Kaepernick is an American football quarterback who is currently a free agent. He played college football at the University of Nevada.

Born: November 3, 1987 (age 29), in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Height: 6′ 4″
Partner: Nessa (2015–)
Parents: Rick Kaepernick, Heidi Russo, Teresa Kaepernick
Education: University of Nevada, Reno (2010), John H. Pitman High School

Before a preseason game in 2016, Kaepernick sat down, as opposed to the tradition of standing, during the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” During a post-game interview, he explained his position stating, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way.”
