Julián Castro formally announces the end of his presidential campaign
On Thursday, Castro confirmed the end of his bid for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. The former housing secretary was the only Latino candidate in the Democratic primary.
“With only a month until the Iowa caucuses, and given the circumstances of this campaign season, I have determined that it simply isn’t our time.”
It’s with profound gratitude to all of our supporters that I suspend my campaign for president today.
I’m so proud of everything we’ve accomplished together. I’m going to keep fighting for an America where everyone counts—I hope you’ll join me in that fight. pic.twitter.com/jXQLJa3AdC

.@JulianCastro ran as an unapologetic liberal. He was also one of few Latinos ever to run for highest office. But he never broke into top tier in polls. https://t.co/LqGEpqjvkp
