(L.A.) Jesus Castorena, 43, Died Off a Ravine

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 43-year-old Latino male that occurred in steep terrain.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Jesus Castorena.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Traumatic Injuries

RIP JESUS CASTORENA (July 24, 1981 – August 1, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 11:06 p.m.

The decedent was the person killed in a crash that sent four people more than 400 feet down a ravine in the backroads of the Angeles National Forest west of Agua Dulce.

At around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, the county’s fire department was informed of a crash involving an off-road vehicle that went over 400 feet down the side of Rowher Canyon Trail near Sierra Highway in Agua Dulce.

Castorena was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Three other people in the vehicle were transported to hospital with injuries, one by helicopter and two by ground ambulance.
