Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Trauma

RIP GERARDO PARRA (January 22, 1974 – March 5, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 4:58 a.m.

The decedent was killed, along with another person, in a wrong-way crash on the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in Porter Ranch.

The crash on the westbound freeway, at the Tampa Avenue off-ramp, was reported at 4:25 a.m. Sunday.

A dark-colored sedan was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes and slammed into a semi-truck. The vehicle landed on the embankment of the off-ramp.

The other person killed was Andres Quintanar, 37 years of age. They were both passengers in the wrong-way vehicle whose driver survived and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The speculation is that the driver was DUI. The box truck’s driver sustained only minor injuries.
