Fauci says isolation period cut to 5 days “to keep society running”

The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) had announced that the recommended isolation period for COVID-positive people be cut in half from 10 days to 5 days.

In an interview today, Anthony Fauci explained that the quarantine period was halved “to keep society running.” Fauci is director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and currently the chief medical advisor of the executive branch.

People who test positive for the coronavirus need to isolate themselves for only five days if they don’t show symptoms, the CDC had said Monday.
