Conor McGregor’s Finger Injury Caused By Romanian Bomber Ion Pascu’s Tooth! (Photo) #MMA

One of the mysteries during last week’s UFC 229 press conference was a highly noticeable wound on a finger of MMA superstar Conor McGregor.

While a guest on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on ESPN, McGregor finally explained the injury to allay the worries of fans.

“I was fighting a 90-kilo fighter, Ion Pascu; he’s a great solid fighter. They call him the bomber. Like me, I sometimes spar without a gum shield. I was sparring this guy, The Bomber, and I smacked him with a clean shot, and his tooth embedded into me.”

“A man’s tooth was embedded into my knuckle. Welcome to the fight game. The real fight game. Not that tip-tap shit you see so much of. You’ve got to get in and do it. You’re either going to do it or you’re not going to do it. Make a decision. It is what it is.”

One day later, the sparring partner in question Ion Pascu, known more fully as the Romanian Bomber, shared a photo on his Instagram account with a good-natured note.

Yes, that gap is the former location of a tooth that ended up embedded in the Notorious Conor McGregor’s finger! What a workout session.

The media interest coincided with great news for Pascu, who it has been officially announced will be fighting Lorenz Larkin at Bellator 207. He is stepping in for an injured Erick Silva. The fight is an alternate bout in Bellator’s ongoing welterweight grand prix tournament.

I’m not only fighting him, I’m gonna knock him out! It is time for the people to know The Romanian Bomber!

Born on April 18, 1982, in Bucharest, Romania, Pascu stands 5’9″ (175.26 cm) and weighs 185 pounds (83.91 kg). He trains with McGregor at SBC Ireland and currently holds an 18-8 win-loss record.

Pascu’s most recent fight ended in a win for him over Alex Lohore on May 12 this year at BAMMA 35 in Dublin.
